Why did you want to work with TreeEra to plant trees? How does tree planting support your business’s mission?

At Organic Hair Lab, we strive to constantly evolve our brand by partnering with companies and organizations that are in line with our ethos and goals. As a full-service hair salon, we help individuals look and feel their best while ensuring no harm to our bodies, animals, or the planet. As we are taking steps toward becoming B Corp, we knew it was time to reduce our carbon footprint, so partnering with TreeEra was an easy decision.

What does affecting climate change mean to your business?

We hope that as a small business taking these steps, we can encourage others to think about how they too can affect climate change. Being at the forefront of sustainability for small businesses means we have developed a unique clientele from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.

Do you have any other tips on how to incorporate sustainability into one’s everyday life?

We have many tips to help individuals and businesses get started down the path of sustainability. It can be very overwhelming for many, as there is so much information to gather. It is beneficial to understand that small steps over time can make a huge impact. Start by researching what is locally available to you. Get information on what your trash company does with your waste. Start composting, recycling, and re-purposing! Be sure to turn off your lights and unplug appliances that are not in use. End the habit of using single-use plastics. Purchase locally as much as you can. And, support companies who support sustainability.
